Dear Friend and Supporter of the Evergreen Sustainability Alliance,

Happy Holidays! The Evergreen Sustainability Alliance team (formerly Evergreen’s Alliance for Sustainability + You or EAS+Y) hopes that you consider a year-end donation to us. We made a big impact in 2020 thanks to your support!

This is a critically important time to mitigate the climate crisis. With record wildfires ravaging our nation and our gross negligence of the natural world, we believe our mission to foster local, sustainable solutions for food sources, waste streams, and energy use is more important than ever.

Despite COVID we are proud to have accomplished the following:

We diverted an estimated 201,866 lbs or 101 tons (26,000 lbs MORE than 2019!) of “waste” from landfills in 2020 through our Community Compost Program, Holiday Tree Recycle Days, Spring Clean Recycle Day, and Zero Waste Event Services!

We also grew our Zero Waste Refill Pop-Up Shops offerings, reducing our community’s use of plastic packaging. When COVID restrictions started, we added monthly Delivery Days to keep our clients healthy.

We continued to foster local, sustainable food options for the community at the Buchanan and Buffalo Park Community Gardens that were built and are managed by ESA. We are grateful that our gardeners could enjoy quality time in nature during the pandemic.

We were also honored to receive two awards for our community activism and environmental stewardship this year: the Jefferson County Sustainability Commission’s Community Award and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s Environmental Leadership Program’s GOLD Award.

We also expanded our outreach capability and resources by refreshing our name, logo, operating systems, and website.

We intend to expand our program offerings in 2021, including a Green Business Certification Program, a Sustainable Living Series, and a Zero Waste Forum. If you think our work is important, please donate on Giving Tuesday, December 1st, 2020, or on Colorado Gives Day, Tuesday, December 8th. You can donate at sustainevergreen.org or coloradogives.org or send a check to Evergreen Sustainability Alliance at PO Box 236, Evergreen, CO 80437. Your contribution ensures we can continue our important work to foster a healthy and sustainable community!
