Green Teams

GREEN TEAMS
For schools and organizations (grades K-12)

Green Teams are student-led leadership teams that lead waste audits, energy audits, plant schoolyard habitats, and work to protect biodiversity in their own community, among other areas of study by following the National Wildlife Federation’s Pathways to Sustainability Curricula. With administrative support, parent volunteers, and our guidance, you can start and sustain a successful Green Team at your school. The Evergreen Sustainability Alliance helped found and continues to support many Green Teams in local schools around town, including Green Teams at Wilmot Elementary and Parmalee Elementary.

The Green Team Superheroes at Wilmot Elementary are a great example of a successful Green Team. They won the President’s Environmental Youth Award and got to travel to Washington DC to accept the honor for all of their hard work reducing Wilmot’s energy use and encouraging their school community to reduce its footprint! Way to go Wilmot Green Team Superheroes!

PUPPET SHOWS
For schools and organizations (ages 0-10)

The Evergreen Sustainability Alliance offers two different Puppet Show options for local third graders and events with kids ages 0-10:

  • Ernie the Elk and his loveable fellow wildlife puppet cast bring a story about the harm of plastic bags on the environment, local wildlife, and biodiversity to more than 400 third graders in area elementary schools every Spring, as well as to local community events such as the Fairy Festival and the Jeffco Fair & Festival.
  • Bernie Broccoli and friends tell the story of regeneration, healthy soil, and reducing our carbon footprint through composting in our newest Puppet Show with a brand new cast of silly and loveable characters!

Our Puppet Shows are an engaging and effective way to talk about current environmental issues with kids and offer ample opportunity for meaningful discussion about plastics, waste, energy, and our impact on the environment.

KIDS LOVE OUR PUPPET SHOWS!

Puppet Show Student Letter

“Thank you for visiting Parmalee Elementary. The puppet show was funny but also kind of sad. It could teach all kids what’s happening because of trash. It could tell them that when you see trash pick it up. Now instead of getting plastic bags we can get our own.”

Puppet Show Student Letter

“Thank you for visiting Parmalee Elementary. Thank you for the puppet show. I really liked it when Betty the Bird tried to put plastic in her nest. Thank you for the bags. I plan to use mine at the grocery store.”

We can cater our presentation to your interests and audience!

Everyone learns something from our talks and we tend to keep things positive and solution-oriented so you can leave feeling inspired and empowered. Donations always appreciated.
